Experimento 2
Sofia Fitas

Experimento 2 continues the research followed through in the previous project Experimento 1, evoking the concept of Rhizome defined by Gilles Deleuze. This solo also delved into the concept of Devenir (Metamorphosis), which served as an inspiration and a stimulus to the artistic research.

To build up this solo, Sofia worked from the idea of the body as an unlimited potential of expression, communication and influence. The research was based on these guiding principles to try to conceive an artistic “object”, where the body is revealed as a metaphor and as a product of metamorphosis.

The aim is to discover an impersonal and heterogeneous body that doesn’t try to identify itself with a subject, object or ways of being. On the contrary, it attempts to express itself intensively, it is a body that draws tangents into other multiplicities. That is to create a singular, inorganic and imperceptible being that modulates forces, creates images and establishes relations, which reveal themselves as a stimulus for reflection and questioning. This is a body which doesn’t define a territory, but where we can discover real and virtual paths, thus a body that doesn’t pretend to be conclusive nor definitive. Experimento 2 is a solo where experimentation prevails against interpretation.
